Him and Ghoulam would be great signings If anything this sounds like Southampton doing their all to scupper the deal and showing to be at a position of power. I doubt Liverpool have done anything wrong but if they have they'll get away with it anyway just like Chelsea did with Ashley Cole. I imagine its hard as fuck to prove tapping up anyway, hell if Jose did say whatever he apparently said to Kluivert Jnr after the Europa League final that could be classed as tapping up too. In this day and age and the huge amount of money in football (especially in England) I don't think transfer fees really matter that much. A bargain is a bargain, but if you're paying over 30m for a player you're already overpaying and adding another 10m or 20m on top of that is not a big deal. At the end of the day Liverpool will get a good defender and partnered with Matip they'll probably have their most stable and reliable CB pairing since Rafa's days. A back 4 of Clyne-Virgil-Matip-Ghoulam is up there with the best in the league. As for tapping, it seems Virgil is doing all the work himself.
