The Men's Rumble last night has to go down as one of the best ever. The PPV overall was dull but the main event made staying up worthwhile, it was great.

The Men's Rumble was amazing and the Women's Rumble was fine but wrong winner.

Definitely the right winner in the Men's and what a story told throughout. Excellent.

Decided to give AEW a chance and watched a few episodes of the last few weeks. Generally a really impressive show with guys who clearly know how to work a story, the main things that stand out:

Jericho is as good if not better than ever character wise. He may not have the look or in ring performance any more but my days he’s on another level when it comes to the psychology of a heel. Just ridiculously entertaining and creative in everything he does.

Moxley is as terrible as always. Overly dramatic, no subtlety, the same garbage that was obvious in WWE – He as all the nuance of a Tourette’s patient. A guy who clearly thinks he has more charisma than he actually has but has done a solid job building a reputation on that delusion. He’s unwatchable and unbelievable as a performer. Always was. Will be the reason I'm not going to keep watching as their obviously pushing him to the moon.

Cody is a different person to any WWE iteration. Shows you how dreadful the WWE are given they actually tried with him several times but never once got anything resembling this. Amazing what happens when you let a guy work and let a push play out.

They’re the guys I knew from before along with Goldust. Hugely impressed with MJF, Page and Omega too.

Their women’s division is a waste of time and should have been scrapped until they had the talent to make it work.

JR sounds like he could keel over at any minute. Probably a good idea to have him but the man couldn’t give less of a shit on commentary.

Review on last nights Wrestlemania 36 Part I.......Part II tonight with Cena and Orton.

The Deadman won, Rollins lost!!

Just weird without the roar of an excitable crowd. Dead, surreal atmosphere goes without saying.

Stopped watching WWE now tbh. I did see the Undertaker is back as the badass though.

AEW is cool in some points (Jericho = GOAT) but it's too flip floppy for me. And I hate the Young Bucks.

I only really watch PPV's and certain matches. Mostly I just watch clips and recaps.

AEW is still learning but they have some great workers and will probably pick up a few of the ones WWE let go recently as well. In terms of star power, WWE is still top, especially with non-wrestling fans, but for us fans, AEW is a real viable alternative and hopefully will only keep on growing.

I think some of the matches need to be shorter tbh. It even takes the top guys 15-20 minutes to beat a jobber and so I switch off. Also it feels like they have to do 50 finishers in a match. Especially with the Young Bucks, I watch them do all these great moves that basically mean nothing and I just get numb to it.

Love Jericho, MJF and Adam Page though.

Yeah I get this argument. It can also used for some of the NXT matches too, especially with Gargano, Cole etc. But for whatever reason in NXT it seems still more realistic than it can do with the Young Bucks. Having said that, when they are on form, they are possibly the best tag team on the planet. But yes, very flippy. ^^

MJF is awesome too, totally agree. Jericho is at GOAT status by now.

Even though I don't really watch WWE anymore, I do see a few vids on it and that female manager is great. Zelinga? Or something. Wait...Vega. I think.

Zelina Vega, yeah. She's pretty good. One of her 'clients', Adrade, is a wrestling machine, I love him.

If anyone has the network, it's worth watching the undertaker documentary 'the last ride', starts off on the lead up to wrestlemania when he had that match with Reigns.

Part two of 5 on Sunday. This potentially could be the greatest documentary WWE have produced - really hoping Taker writes an Autobiography as well. Also highly recommend Vice's "Dark Side of the Ring" been watching on More 4 and new eps on Youtube. They're covering everything, from Benoit to The Road Warriors.

The Benoit one was powerful. I'm sort of glad they didn't go into the detail of Daniel's injuries - probably a bit too graphic. I'd love Nancy to go in the HOF. I watched Snuka's one too - absolute murderer. The Owen Hart is soon right? I watched most of last season's as well.

I like the network - I've been on a rewatch of WWE/WCW, though I dropped WCW. Up to February 2000 atm. The one shame about the Undertaker doc is he was always so in character yet now even his kayfabe is dead.

The Ruthless Aggression series is cool too. My peak interest in wrestling basically died around 2006 but I loved most of RE.

If we're being honest, it's an industry that should have been closed down years ago. It's full of so many sad stories, mental heath problems, substance abuse, crime, injury, murder and exploitation.

Wrestling is not far off the Porn industry for levels of fucked up. Although WWE have improved in some areas in recent years.

Owen Hart's wife has an interview with Chris Jericho where she says WWE sued her after Owen died for breach of his contract (WTF?) just to make her run out of money before she could finish her case against them which was in a different state.

Dirty business lol.

The Benoit case damn near killed it. Judging from the ratings, I think the bubble has burst, and wrestling really now is being watched by hardcore fans - and no longer attracting casual viewers.

I never watched wrestling for the quality of wrestling when I was growing up. It was the cool gimmicks, larger than life characters, and energy that they brought.

Stone Cold, The Rock, Jeff Hardy, Scotty 2 Hotty, etc. These guys.

The matches were probably quite shit compared to how technical it is now.

I wasn't that big of a fan of Benoit, Angle, etc. Yet these guys could actually wrestle.

To be honest I'm more of a fan of the performance and the putting together of the show - although I do love a good angle to hook me in as well. Used to love the car crashes that they'd produce in TLC and Hell in the Cell matches - still do.

I think that's why they changed their style to become more fan friendly, advertiser friendly, PG etc. It's worked - their product is the worst it's been in decades yet they are making record profits because it's all about the established brand now. It's not The Rock or Steve Austin, it's the brand WWE "putting smiles on people's faces". Hence the rumours of Disney buying them.

Used to love HIAC matches when it was the end of a feud grudge match. Now it's more like "Normal match in a cell".

I prefer the old matches of the early 000s because everything felt more important tbh.

It's amazing how popular scotty too hotty was considering he was basically a bottom level guy. Everyone knew the worm.

      It's on YouTube premium.
Anyone watching this? Surprised to see no thread so far. If you are a fan of the original Karate Kid then this show is must watch.
The quality of writing is a thing of beauty. Season 2 was a bit meh compared 1 but still great.

These violent delights have violent ends.
      What door?
I thought it was high time that we had a thread for this wonderful tv show, especially so that we can talk about the themes evoked during the series and anything else Westworld related.
ATTENTION - THERE WILL BE SPOILERS
To begin with, I noticed @TFIA and @O talking about plotholes in another thread so I decided to talk about that here and not in the other thread....
The "plothole" about Arnold/Bernard that TFIA brought up was adressed during the season and more or less at the beginning as well...Logan and William are talking about the park and Logan says that he wants the family (Delos) to invest in the park. During this discussion Logan talks about the mysterious partner that Ford had that no-one knows anything about and this is even after they hire investigators to delve into Arnold.
And the Arnold-Ford storyline that leads to Arnold's death is clearly before the park even opens, before Delos invest so it is logical that no-one knows what Arnold looks like so therefore they cannot know that Bernard is based on Arnold.

End of the year so as always a time for your end-of-year lists.
2016 was a great year for tv shows so what makes your list?
I'll add mine later on today.

Best thing on TV right now. This show has filled the void left by Person of Interest for me.
If you love Breaking Bad then you should be watching this right away. The meticulous attention to detail is on par, if not better than BrBa.
