Jay007 3,429
The only player who you could argue was a positive tonight. He showed more tenacity and passion in his first few minutes on the pitch than most of our players have in the last 10-12 months, at least. Keen to see much more of him. Eddie 616
I liked what I seen from him too. Said it in the matchday thread at the time - but he showed a bit of fight, a bit if personality at least. I also liked how he was arguing at the others after he made a last ditch tackle defending in our box (even though it was ruled offside) but he was still having a go and showing that he cared. Surely he can take that LB position over Shaw moving forward. The latter has had far too many chances now and along with Maguire, he's been one of our biggest calamities defensively for quite some time now. TFIA 15,109
Carried the ball well, showed some real urgency which was missing. Shame his first start is going to be him getting anally probed by Salah. Great fucking management.
Deez Nutz 372
Was the only player who looked willing to fight, good physical presence for a small lad, maybe the new Paul Parker.

TheManc 4,058
I do think that on the the whole, Shaw get's a bit too much shit....but LB spot is Malacia's for now! Really liked his game. Not faultless and im sure we will have sticky moments to come, but still....good play

TFIA 15,109
Love this guy. Not sure how good he is but he’s damn tenacious. Doesn’t give up when he’s beaten. TheManc and Jay007

Eddie 616
He's got great fight in him, that's for sure. Aggressive & tenacious. Similar to how I'd describe Martinez this early in his United career. A good showing again today, battled hard and done well for the most part, albeit he'd one or two stray passes that could've resulted differently. Malacia has got some good attributes that'll definitely stand to him in the PL in the long run. But it's mainly refreshing to see a player in a United shirt who genuinely looks like he cares. You can already feel the love from the United fans for him and Martinez. TheManc
TheManc 4,058
Was a bit shaky today but his attitude is very good. He's not quite as offensive as I expected?
O 20,624
He's not contributing a lot in terms of crosses or key passes in the final 3rd. But he's focused and intense, unlike Shaw. He won 7 out 8 ground duels tonight and is good at driving forward during the 1st phase of the buildup play.

Gary 194
After watching the ' stand ins ' this evening shows what a dire situation we are in. Think wee Tyrell is the only 1 who could walk off with his head held high
Gary 194
Again the wee "Dutch Butcher" showed his qualities. Can't see Shaw keeping the LB spot his own for much longer!

I've been an admirer of Shaw since he signed from Southampton but unfortunately his performances and ability have taken a nosedive. We had Telles brought in to compete with him for that spot but that wasn't successful to put it mildly. Malacia is a different proposal. The lad has a great deal to offer and for many years to come. When did Shaw break his leg? 2015, 2016? He was starting to show his ability about that time and he was lucky to recover but what have we had out of him since his comeback? 1-2 decent seasons? I haven't seen enough of Malacia to really judge so I'll wait until he's played a few games and see if Shaw walks back into the team.

But what I have seen is his tenacity, technical ability and speed in abundance. Would like to see a Utd back of Frimpong Varane Lisandro Malacia in the very near future or what I'd dream to see is Frimpong Varane Guadiol Lisandro Malacia would be a joy to behold
