Signed on the dotted line today. Here's what he said:

“Manchester United is a special club, and I cannot wait to get started. I have had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford many times but to do it in the red shirt of United will be an amazing feeling.
“I have seen Erik’s work at Ajax and know the level of detail and preparation that he and his staff put into every day. It is clear that he is a fantastic coach. Having spoken with him and learned more about his vision and the way he wants the team to play, I am even more excited for the future. I still have major ambitions in the game, there is a huge amount that I know I can achieve, and this is the perfect place to continue my journey.”

Welcome aboard Christian.

A thread fore  in the players forum not exists if I am not wrong.

Eriksen deserves a lot of credit for his 1st games with United shirt.

One of a few footballers with both : ,,pulse" and abilities !

Hats off and Welcome

He was woeful against Brentford, but a lot better against Liverpool.

  • hdcantona changed the title to Christian Eriksen
  • hdcantona locked and unlocked this topic

It's only the start of September, but he looks to be our most successful import of the summer. I like Malacia and Martinez but there are still some small question marks over them, which get smaller with every game.

Antony and Casemiro haven't played nearly enough games, but we paid a premium to get them in whereas Eriksen came on a free. I also didn't expect to see this much value added, I expected him to be part of the squad but the more I look at it, the more I realise at least at this early stage, that we very much depend on him to tether our defense to our attack.

It's not nearly enough of course but it makes us look at least halfway decent. The opposition will be targeting him soon enough so Ten Hag has to think fast. I was really surprised we didn't keep Hannibal as an option after we failed to get De Jong. He must not be highly rated because even Ralf saw fit to keep him on the periphery.

He has been impressive in recent games but I'm not sure he should be playing in games like today's, particularly if Fernandes is also in the team. It leaves us too open.

He's perhaps a luxury player. Physically I don't think he's up to games like today's, especially when he's playing a deeper role.

The guy is total class. Should be building our team around him !

Showed he's relatively useless if we're out of possession honestly, Mata levels of pace. Was slow to a bunch of blocks/tackles. Lost possession on the edge of our box which Arsenal then went and scored from. He honestly looked like a passenger for most of the game and if we had the options on the bench, i think he might have been subbed quite early in the second half.

When we have players like Casemiro controlling the midfield and dictating play, Eriksen has a lot more say in games.

If we can sign another top midfielder in the summer, Eriksen might be even more useful, but we'll see.

Hhhmmm am I going to go there...hhmmmm yeah fuck it why not I can only be honest about my thoughts.

7 assists great that doesn't necessarily mean you've been outstanding. Pogba had 6 assists by 4 matches last season look how that panned out.

I don't believe he has really ticked at all in fact I'd say he is past his best another one of those strange United signings we seem to make ..(ahem Weg the Horse...FFS!!)

Actually very limited when it's a battle can't tackle and never looked like threading through a decent ball. He has done tremendously well to come back from what he went through but I sincerely believe Brentford was his ceiling.

If you say to me that he and Fernandes.. (why everyone calls him Bruno baffles me as if he's a mate) Fernandes the waster are still our midfield next term we are not challenging we have no chance of a sustained attempt at the title.

Both are weak even when Casemiro takes the heavy stuff Eriksen and Fernandes just don't have that regular and required guile to pick open defences when we need those big performances.

The thing about Scholsey Giggs & Beckham was that they would dig in horrible matches they had that grit sunny weather or not. They always showed up very rarely gave it less than 90%.

Eriksen will be someone to bring on when a team is weary or if we're winning 3 nil.

Squad player imo can't be part of our future plans.

I still think he was a good signing but obviously that doesn't mean he is a long term solution to our midfield if we're to become a title winning side. If we're ranking our first team on current form with 8/10 being good enough for a team challenging for the title then i see it like this.

De gea 6.5

Shaw 7.5

Dalot 7

Varane 9

Martinez 8.5

Casimiro 8.5

Erikson 7

Bruno 6.5

Rashford 8.5

Martial 6.5

Anthony 6.5
