2021/2022: PL MD 38: Crystal Palace v Man Utd

W5 nil to Palace. Just to round off the worst season ever for United in Premiership football.

Even in the year that I saw United relegated I don't recall being as disappointed as I presently am. For one, the group of players we had then weren't supposedly anywhere near the standard that this group were meant to be. (Apologys to Alex Stephany, Lou Macari, Jim Holton, Martin Buchan, Brian Greenhoff, etc ) The transfer money spent to assemble them wasn't astronomical or the wages paid to them either. It was a working class sport with players getting good wages but nothing like the millionaire payments of today. The money needed to go watch a game was well within a working man's wages. 1974 isn't a year I remember at all vividly, possibly because at best the game was on the radio but rarely.

This year and the last few will probably give me nightmares for the rest of my life, particularly this season when I've probably seen every single game in horrific UHD!

I have every seasons games highlights of SAFs years successes on DVDs and have to seek solace watching them now and again. ( Amazing how picture quality has evolved over that period, some of the earlier seasons seem to be poor quality. )

Can United under ETH start to resemble a team that can play football again, or does the nightmares continue for another few managers?

ETH will try for sure . As per some reports he will start work on Monday .

ETH is most likely gonna be meeting a lot of the higher ups this week and discussing/planning for next season.

I reckon he has his first interactions with the squad after Palace. I'm sure he'll be in the stadium to watch it however.

Not sure he's gonna be impressed watching his soon to be squad getting pummeled by Crystal Palace.

I think he's gonna stay clear to avoid being a distraction - I imagine he'll be turning up next week after working remotely this week, but could be wrong

West Ham won't beat Brighton. Draw.

6th place - Europa League.

You would think the players would try to impress ten Hag ahead of next season. Even they must want to avoid The Conference League. Especially Ronaldo.

Palace are draw specialists though. Last home game of the season. Selhurst Park crowd. A potential scalp against United...

I'm going for a 1-1 draw.

I reckon they score more than 1.

2-2 or 3-3.

FFS guys stop it, yes its been bad, but bugger me sideways on a mountain, i lived through relegation and nowt but the odd FA cup win.

Most of you have known mostly success, we need time, a clear out and some faith from the faithful. We are UNITED , we are the fans , yes the glazers are a pair of mercenaries but most of the cock ups and poor purchases were made inside the club.

Cliques of players and briefings to the press dont help. Clear the shite and trouble out. Be honest with us fans , if its a couple of years to rebuild and bring the right people in and youngsters on then say so.

The trouble with us, is we are loyal to the club, its our club the one and only one we want.

You can change your partner, job, house and car…….But you can never EVER change your CLUB.

UNITED FIRST LAST AND ALWAYS!!

We will be here whilst the journey men come and go, whilst the the good and bad times become points to talk over down the pub.

BUT the club is ours forever, we chose it we love it.

Take care,  remember  God wears RED believe me he does, because he never wear sky blue!!

Six players walking away for free, having cost United £175 million in transfer fees. How is that good commercial business Ed. For that alone you needed sacking. And I thought these Yanks owners were supposedly good financial people.

Shame they will not sell their dwindling cash cow to someone who actually knows football and actually enjoys watching it. We've critised Romans Chelsea, but at least he had a passion for the game!

My worry is that because we are incapable of being good enough for top four and European competition, the only way we'll persuade quality players to the club is by massive wage deals, and that's been the problem for years with our transfer policy. It makes it impossible to sell them because no other club would be stupid enough to pay their current wages. Even Pogba, if he moves back to Juventus is having to take a big wage cut.

Anyway, today's irrelevant game. No Ronaldo, can't guess who else in our team is capable of scoring a goal even with ETH looking on. The most likely player to score is Zaha, and he never got a good chance with us when he was here.

5-0 win. To impress ten Hag.

Sancho and Shaw are back in contention.

Shaw out because his wife's had a baby, and Sancho couldn't complete a training session because his tonsillitis has tired him.

HANNIBAL

Awful side. Knew Ronaldo was out. Maguire walks right back in but Varane deserves to be dropped. Rashford and Lingard not even on the bench, I hope that’s purely Ralf’s decision.

Serious risk of bottling Europa here which would be well deserved.

Man utd player hooked it from the by line back into the centre near our penalty area. Zaha pounces and scores.....we're even providing the assists for our opponents now......what a load of utter shit. Even as a 7 Yr old I was coached not to play the ball into the danger area when defending. Just sell the fucking lot of them and get some responsible players in.

Just putting it out there if we lose this that's 6 straight defeats on the road which is the joint worse since 1980!

You lot can believe Rangnick was God and exposed this club blah blah blah but he is the worst manager statistically post war at this club and in charge of the worst run in Premiership History.

In Seriousness there are absolutely disgraceful pure cunts representing this club on the pitch but if you truly believe Rangnick is not responsible whatsoever as to the worst dip in form ever in top flight history then my friends you are completely deluded.
