Gary 169
Do you remember gentlemen (that even includes you 'O' ) when Utd thrashed S'oton 9-0 in Feb '21? In the dressing room after game Hasenhuttl told all the players that they would be fined a months wages, going to a Charity of the ref's choosing. He also ordered that every one of them, starting immediately, would spend all of their off time ie whilst not training or sleeping, out in S'oton and help others less fortunate than themselves for the whole week. Children's Hospitals, Aged Care homes, Primary Schools, Shelters for the homeless etc. When asked about his actions big RH said " ANY MAN WHO HAS NO SENSE OF HUMILITY HAS NO PLACE AT MY CLUB " Wonder what actions his compatriot has in mind? 2 minutes ago, Gary said: Do you remember gentlemen (that even includes you 'O' ) when Utd thrashed S'oton 9-0 in Feb '21? O 20,435
He needs to change his approach next season. He's compromised his principles for short term results. It's lead to a decent league campaign and a League Cup trophy (although an easy run of fixtures), but it's not going to translate to winning the two big prizes in the long term. Get rid of De Gea. United play with one of the deepest defensive lines in The PL. Ronaldo played a role in this too, as it was difficult to press high with him in the team. Casemiro needs a more technical midfield partner around him. He's very good, but not perfect. He can be wayward with his own passing. Eriksen can provide that, but not in a pivot. You need 3 midfielders in modern football, in my opinion. Bruno could replaced with a natural CM who can play in a midfield three with those two. hdcantona, Jay007 and Burns92

Agreed Yesterday actually to me shows what a minor miracle he's worked to get a tune out of this bag of shite with the technical ability of a three footed donkey that we call a squad, even though Eriksen isn't a great fit we missed him dearly even deep due to the technical floor of everyone else we have being so low and nobody outside Martinez able to make consistent progressive passes from deep (casemiro has better range than given credit for and better than most we've had there but he's a DM not a progressor for a reason) If Eriksen was ahead of Casemiro and a De Jong type my word that would be a technical and balanced trio O
John Locke 1,162
I think there was a lesson in how we should not handle a game when we have gone a few goals behind. When a team hits a purple patch then you really have to raise your level to stop conceding more or even getting back in the game. When it was 3-0 i think heads went down and we weren't used to that since the city game. It's like we were a rabbit in the headlights.
PVAD 4,461
When United find a way to beat the Top 6 away from home we might have a chance of competing for the league. We can win cups over the coming seasons but to really challenge you have to go to your main competition and win even drawing is not an option these days. I've looked at our away results against the Top 6 over the past few years and it's atrocious simply atrocious. The obvious solution is getting the right personnel and mentality but those Top 6 will always put in that extra effort against us. This lot have beaten Arsenal Liverpool Spurs & City at home but could you say any those results were convincing? ETH has to take some blame here in the way he sets out his team away from home. Getting mauled by 6 and 7 by City and Liverpool and soundly beat by Arsenal & Brentford is not a good look and he needs to understand why it's a reoccurring theme with this group other than we have 5 players not worthy to wear the shirt. Even with the shite players aside his tactics have to change next season. We need to be winning at least 3 of the Top 6 away matches and perhaps getting away with a couple of draws and obviously win all home games against them. If we get tha balance right we'll be able to launch a concerted challenge. Edited March 6 by PVAD O and kevthebad
CB78 347
bar start of the season, cpl of games in between & the monumental mess that was Sunday I don't think there's been much wrong with his tactics/use of players to date Regardless of Sunday, UTD were already miles from type of football Ten Haag will eventually want to see. Given another pre-season, more signings, positive we'll evolve Generally done a good job, I've admired how he's adapted principles, think it was right approach given the players he has to work with I think (& ff'ing hope) we'll bounce back from this, finish the season strong Edited March 7 by CB78 . kevthebad 881
When United won the cup against Newcastle Robbie Savage said he thought ETH was the best manager in the world. After Liverpool, he gamely tried to defend that against Liverpool fans ringing up and ridiculing him. For the bunch of shite he took over, he has performed a bit of a miracle. Unfortunately his name as manager will historically be linked with the worst EVER defeat by our biggest Derby enemy. ( sorry City, you've only been a threat since you became moneybags ). Using a bird as an analogy. It has to have both wings performing to achieve good flight. Post SAF years we have been stunted by only having a good left wing. ETH would have been well aware of that and spent nearly 80million bringing in Antony who he is very familiar with. I think that could prove to be a big mistake on his part. Yes Antony is skilful, but for a right winger he seems to have two big failings. He has a lack of pace, and worse, he cannot beat a defender and cross from the by-line. As an example of a good right winger, I think of Steve Coppell. Not the biggest United star, but the times he'd get to the by-line and ping a dangerous ball into the box. Don't know if they had stats for assists back then but he must have a good amount. If Antony could cross right footed even without pace he'd be so dangerous, but he can't. Lets him down enormously. No assists this season. So if Dalot overlaps to get a right wing cross in from the by-line and the opposition clear and break, then our left side is exposed and needs a centre back to move out of the middle to fill it, leaving gaps. So has ETH made a blunder in spending so much on a hamstrung right winger? If Greenwood haven't been a fool, he would have been able to perform there as Amad may yet return to do, or Pellistri. But 80 million for a right winger who can't use his right foot!
O 20,435
Gabriel Jesus missed 4 months because of an injury. Smith-Rowe has only played 9 times this season because of a long term injury. Elneny has missed 26 games and counting. Zinchenko has missed 7 PL games through injury. Partey has missed 5 PL games through injury. He missed United away and City at home. Two of Arsenal's 3 defeats. Nketiah has missed the last 2 league games, so they played Trossard as a false 9.

In comparison United have had 3 players start 24 or more out of 26 games. It’s not remotely comparable. this is his point ^^ but to be fair it’s quite fergie esque to distract from our recent struggles Burns92
