Even more bizarre when he's usually so keen/pretty decent at saving with his feet.

Very evidently a problem today, we have come a long way re: playing out from the back and playing through presses but this guy is still a liability playing it out, even his completions aren't very received friendly

I saw a lot of people saying it was an unstoppable free kick but thought it was a lot easier to save than the shot he'd tipped onto the bar earlier in the game

On the plus side we're being linked with the Brighton and Brentford gks for the summer

I thought he was too far to his right too, but the attempt to save it also looked a bit odd to me. He just seemed to jump up in the air with a weak arm out - surely if he actually dive with two hands he'd have got to it?

He is such a disaster with his reluctance to come off his line and his dreadful ball playing ability (or lack thereof) - he also now consistently gets way too much credit for saves, the nketiah chance was hit right at him and while it was close range any championship level gk would be expected to save that - he also took a step the wrong way before saka's goal as if that shot was ever going anywhere else... 

I'd rather he didn't stay but if the new heavily reduced contract talks ring true I can live with it as long as we still bring in a *real* GK to compete (no more fannying about loaning the various clones of Tom Heaton we seem to be doing)

We need a new goalkeeper a proper VDS or Schmeichel. This buffoon threatened to be like them but he is now prone to absolute 3rd rate keeping mistakes and it's been like this since OGS took over to the present time. He has been responsible for proper howlers. His saving grace are and still his super saves some just outrageous.

He and United more importantly can't rely on his super saves. Modern goalkeeping is far more than that. Like @hdcantonasaid his command of the area is bad.. just bordering on the cowardice. Even tonight (Arsenal) he punched a ball that just looped in the air a few minutes before they scored when he should have caught it and everyone else with it. 

His kicking and woeful distribution puts us on the back foot a lot again highlighted tonight. He hasn't had proper competition for 10 years now and is a nailed on starter irrespective of his form which is a pathetic indictment on the club in reality.

United to need to scour the world this summer for a world class keeper instead of signing these past wannabe wasters. De Gea has had his highs but many many lows. He needs to disappear as a back up or move altogether as he his now a liability despite those super saves.

I feel like ten Hag is stuck in a situation where de Gea has to play (because he simply hasn't got a #2 to challenge his position), but ultimately knows he's not the GK he wants in his team. I honestly believe he's going to address this in the summer.

You know he'll kick up a fuss if he's dropped to the bench next season, if a new 'keeper is brought in. So I'm not even a fan of keeping him here on a reduced wage. I think we're best advice him to look for another club and move forward without him. I can't exactly pinpoint a replacement I'd like us to sign right now, but there has to be better out there. Hard to have faith in United's scouting department for the last while though.

With the veteran shot-stopper entering the final six months of his current contract at United, speculation has grown as to whether he will call time on a 12-year career in M16.

But such fears were alleviated last week when the man himself admitted he is confident negotiations - that have been going on behind the scenes - will end positively.

Has to be his last season he is not a class keeper anymore and it beggars belief that in this past 10 years we have not signed ONE keeper of any quality that challenged his sorry ass. That's actually scary that we've not invested in a class keeper in TEN YEARS!!

Therein lies the problem the fucker has had zero competition, put his feet up, rested on his laurels and smoking a big fat one. "Oh wait though"..the fan boys cry he makes amazing saves...no shit Sherlock that's his job as a minimum!!

But I think he was a bit flat-footed for Alonso's header.

And his distribution is pathetic. 49% passing accuracy. 6 long balls completed out of 22 attempts.

That Raphinha save was such an overly dramatic one. A real "look at me" save. It wasn't struck with venom.

It's a real shame that ter Stegen made that fuck up at his near post. If he hadn't, you're looking at the perfect GK performance.

His passing is crisp and accurate (94%), and completed 5 out of 6 long ball attempts. One of which put Shaw under pressure and almost lead to a goal.

Two great saves to deny Weghorst and Rashford.
