I'm always a bit wary of signing a player after he's had one good season. It seems a bit knee-jerk, as if you're trying to just sign him before anyone else gets him, and you do have to wonder if we've taken that chance with him.  Admittedly he was better for us when he first signed (although he still obviously had flaws), but it's been a fairly dramatic decline.

If he does stay, I do think we might need to try to find another role for him as I don't think he'll become the RB we want him to be. But that's largely dependent on who the new manager will be and what system he wants to use.

I think the ideal role for AWB would be slicing the oranges at half time?

In our predicament we definitely can’t afford to be so snobby.    Yeah, his attacking play needs work and lots of it.    As a 1-on-1 defender, there’s only VVD I’d like to play against l

As expected. We'll do really well to sell him. Likely a loan. Would make a lot of sense for Palace.

Only Slabhead remains from the Brexit FC window. I will never forget our fans and pundits lauding how sensible it was. Only set us back 5 years. Ole was a cancer.

ETH will test  him out this season, should know by game 10 if He's worth keeping imo.We know his weakness,if he goes forward, and does nothing constructive in the final third, then Utd are a man down at the back,He doesn't have the pace needed, anymore..your lefts and right backs need extreme energy and speed along with position on and off the ball, too much training to be done on him yet, that's if he can be trained, for what will be required,Utd need the best player for every position possible, Utds back 4 at present cannot cut it to the next level, the other teams have caught up and those ahead ,have improved vastly,so this will be testing season for a few of the old faces that will be in the squad,Sancho needs to hit the ground running,so does Rashford and Elanga,so Utd do have a bit of a stutter, but hopefully a new mindset could work wonders for them..as for Ronaldo,He will be an impact player, and hopefully keep the changing room together..

Need his form to drop off soon.

Or he'll end up signing a new 5 year deal.

If he keeps up this improvement is it a problem that he stays?

He even passed forward decently in some tight spaces today, maybe he just needed some decent coaching to not be a liability in that sense

For me, yeah.

I need De Gea, Shaw, AWB, Maguire and Bruno to leave.

I'm not giving them 3rd and 4th chances like the rest of you cunts.

Even before today I didn't think we should be looking to get rid of him in a hurry. He's been underwhelming overall in his time here, but I think he's done quite well since coming back this season so I'd give him a chance under Ten Hag.

The only other RB we have is Dalot, so we'd have to sign someone else as well.

If the stories are true about us having limited funds in the Summer, it would make sense to keep him for another year.

Laird can cover for Dalot.

Having a £50 million backup RB makes little sense. Only 18 months left on his deal, unless there's an option to extend by 1 year.

The club will have new owners by the summer anyway.

Today was why Dalot won that spot. He struggles technically, especially when pressed or in tight areas, and his passing forward leaves a lot to be desired, there was a moment under RR last year when Dalot ran forward to the ball, cut slightly inside before playing a forward pass down the wing (disguised) with his left foot - I forget to who, possibly elanga, but it was the kind of thing AWB doesn't even think about trying.

He also inexcusably lost his man *again* (Carl Anka from the Athletic literally 2+ years ago did a thread on twitter showing all the times we've conceded a goal at the backpost, usually headed, due to AWB switching off, he just never learns, this spans 3 managers)

He's a good player, much better player than he was being given credit for about 6 weeks ago (probably including by me) - and I think he'll be an expensive but decent backup if he stays but he'll never be good enough to nail down that RB spot in a Ten Hag system, as he's miles off it technically (not that DDG helped him when we ended up losing the corner fwiw)

Both Right & Left Back (after tonight) still weak areas for me -

AWB will go this summer, Dalot’s defo improved but we need better

On the left, Shaw looked vulnerable tonight - Malacia been a decent signing but don’t think he’s the answer

AWB has the concentration levels of a fruit fly. He cant stay focused for longer than 5 seconds. He'll glance over his shoulder, know theres a player there and still lose the player seconds later. Dalot probably makes the difference for us today if he plays.

As for Shaw, i feel bad for him today he was left to defend that left side alone for most of the game. We were clearly playing with Rashford as our counter attacking focus, so he was never back helping Shaw, instead Shaw has Eriksen, who on numerous occasions shows his Juan Mata levels of pace to get beaten to a shot, including the goal from Saka.

Still want him decapitated , same day as yourself

Dalot? Seen better playing in Sunday league

You want United's only goalscorer decapitated.

No Rashford = no top 4

Dalot has been one of United's best players this season. Huge improvement since Ralfster gave him a run of games last season. He's even good for Portugal.
