I'm not going to let the fact that he's a Dipper cloud my judgement Ed.   But he, along with Chong, Greenwood, Gomez and others to be fair should be told well in advance that the Euro Disney Vase will be their stage.   It would be a big jump for them.  But what a great experience it would be.  Ole should reassure them that there's no pressure and to go and express themselves.   Live on telly.  I bet they'd be buzzing.   They'd certainly have the fans respect and backing, and it would put Ole in a better light.   And hopefully things will go nicely for them and maybe Ole could sprinkle in a few first team performances.

We do have something to play for. We can still finish in 5th above Arsenal and avoid qualifying for the Europa League which in turn means we wouldn't need to cut short our pre season tour... Ed Woodward and Glaziers wouldn't like that would they...

I have to presume you are supremely confident we will bag a top 4 spot next season, or are prepared for a second season in the EL.

I wouldn't think so Rab.   The class of 92 players look like they'd never seen a chicken shish and donner kebab with salad hot chilli and mayo and an extra large portion of fries in their fuckin lives let alone eat one. 

Ryan Giggs was like a Mandalay donkey, all fuckin dick 'n' ribs.

It will make a change from watching Titus Bramble Jones, Luke Shaw and Lukheskey fuckin lumbering around.   Now that's where all the deep fried mars bars are going.

You cannot make that comparison. Just think about what the 92 lads had around them. Consummate professionals and leaders. Schmeichel, Brucie, Pallister, Irwin, Ince (the cunt), Kanchelskis, Robson, Hughes, McCair, Cantona, Keano wasn't far behind

What have this bunch of youngsters got???? add to that it is presently unknown how they measure up to the class of 92 lads. If you were to throw them all in on Sunday they will be totally exposed and probably wont come out of it well. Same goes for the Europa.

I'm all for them getting their chances but if they are good enough they will need to be phased in, not thrown in.

The notion that a bunch of kids won us the title 92/93 is just that, a silly romantic notion. They were nurtured and mentored by the best in the business.

We can do that next season. This is one game. The last game after the worst season I can remember. Let the kids go out and enjoy themselves. We're not talking about a full team of 11. It will be 4 or 5 maximum - Gomes, Chong, Greenwood and Garner should all start

Here's a comp of his performance last night for the under 23s and if you don't have time you need to take a minute at least to go to the u23 matchday thread and watch his first goal last night, was an absolute screamer.

Think he may force his way into the side near the end of the season if he keeps up the level of lasts nights performances and takes the chance with any cameos he gets. He's a real class act in the making imo

I wouldn't be too worried if he doesn't get too much game time this season. He's only 18, and the type of player he is (very similar to Carrick), he'll be looking to peak in his late 20's/early 30's. He's extremely intelligent with an excellent passing range, and I look forward to seeing his integration into the first team. With Carrick himself as a tutor, he's in excellent hands.

 

With the 3 G's coming through the academy, the future looks bright.

His goal in a friendly for our underage side against Club Brugge earlier today.Quality, the step up in his game in terms of goalscoring this season has been fantastic, some real crackers scored too. Always seen him as a holding midfielder but he's shown in the underage system this season that perhaps he's capable of been more box to box if needed.

Finished 2-0 with Chong scoring the other goal. Angel Gomes also played.

Yeah needs loaning out. U23 level is so poor one can't read too much into it unfortunately. He's stood out there but to really progress and prove his worth he needs to play games at a higher level. Gomes Chong and garner have not shone in the first team this season.
