Harry Kane awarded MBE.

Recommended Posts

It was announced last week that Harry Kane was to be awarded an MBE by the Queen for his services to football which had me thinking.

What does "services to football" actually consist of??

Charity shield winners medals?  None.

League cup winners medals?   None.

FA Cup winners medals?  None.

Premiership title medals ?   None.

Champions league winners medals?   None.

World club champions winners medals?  None.

Then I thought of someone like Paul Scholes for instance and thought I'd compare and contrast.

Charity shield winners medals 5

League cup winners medals. 2

FA Cup winners medals. 3

Premiership winners medals 11

Champions league winners medals 2

Intercontinental Cup winners medals 1

World club champions winners medals 1

That's a haul of 25 career winners medals  compared to Kane's 0.

Am I fuckin missing something here or am I just being that miserable conspiracy theorist as usual.

It’s embarrassing really. The decent World Cup in Russia was overhyped and resulted in this.

Should be given out at the end of his career or if England reach a final.

Got his own coin ffs

Nobody celebrates mediocrity like the English...

Services to football (or any sport) doesn't have to just mean winning stuff surely?

If you've done community work or supported charities or maybe even just inspired many to take up the sport that is arguably a service to the sport imo

And Kane is deserving of this after 4/5 years of being in The PL?

The Dutch and French hand out similar type of awards to the entire squad, but usually only if they reach a final or make a lasting impression.

You would probably be the first to shout how meaningless an MBE is - which makes me wonder, why does anyone care?

It doesn’t actually bother me. But I’m sure there are more deserving individuals all across Britain who aren’t in the limelight.

Paul Scholes is a bitter, old, ginger, illegally-gambling, charisma-vacuum of a cunt.

Which is why we love him?

Maybe so Pizza.   But he was one fuck of a baller.

What you said makes no actual sense in English but it sounds pretty cool so I’ll allow it.
