PL Matchday 21: Newcastle vs Man Utd

Recommended Posts

Rondón will have a lot of joy if Smalling isn’t fit for this. Our players have presssd and run around a lot during the previous 3 games. We need to rotate a little.

Rashford and Lingard could do with a rest.

I fear the day we lose our first game under Ole.

This place will go back to meltdown mode.

Dont start with the Fat Spaniards team. 2-0. Our first clean sheet.

Will most likely be Spurs away.

Another 4-1.

Newcastle actually have a really poor home record this season, so it's not entirely impossible.

But Newcastle love beating us and Rafa will have an ultra defensive game plan.

So probably a 2-0 win.

Possibly, or we beat Spurs and make the league win even easier for pool..

Spurs will probably open their new stadium against us. Surprise everyone.

A historic 1st stadium win against Manchester United. Classic.

I still don't get this obsession with clean sheets.

I think it’s a confidence thing - attackers get confidence from scoring & creating, defenders get confidence from shutting teams out.

Plus I'm sure it would be nice for David as well.

Tough game, dark, wet, cold night against a Benitez team. Hopin we manage to break them down early, and it'll be a good one for us United fans.

Vamos vamoss!

I think that this will be our most difficult game to date under Ole as Newcastle are defensively tougher than Cardiff, Bournemouth & Huddersfield and Benitez is kind of like a Jose light, especially when a Top 6 team comes to town. I'm not looking forward to a particularly exciting game as they'll try and stifle us at every opportunity and basically park the bus and I don't expect the second-worst attack in the league(15 goals in 20 games) to stretch our back four much but that will depend solely on the midfield and whether they want to make Shelvey look like Zidane again as he did at OT before United finally woke up and realised that it was Newcastle they were playing.

I'd love another 4-1, but would be happy with an eked-out 1-0 too and then bring on Spurs - I honestly think that we'll beat them 2-1 or 3-1 because Spurs like to play on the front foot, but that's another day's thread.

Come on boys, a win tonight and hope that Saints somehow claim at least a draw against Chelsea and then happy days. The perfect confidence booster before going to Wembley.
