60th Anniversary Of Munich Air Disaster

Recommended Posts

Some of the stuff on the Paddy Crerand Show is tear inducing. The bit when they took the young lad around Old Trafford and then said "the club went on, and it will still go on through you, your friends and your family". Wow.

Forever remembered, forever United. Even to those of us born generations afterwards, they are forever in our hearts.

The Guardian has a very good piece about Donny Davies, the Manchester Guardian sportswriter who died in the crash. Well worth a read as it is the players who tend to be remembered and not the others. Shame really.

The people had an 8 page pullout this Sunday.

Who knows how many titles we would have now or if England could have had a world cup earlier.

If Duncan was half as good as Sir Bobby says he was then he would surely have captained both to numerous trophies.

The fans went to Munich and unveiled a new memorial over there today - Bayern Munich had some representatives there as well. I'd love to see an annual friendly between United and Bayern - maybe in the summer.

There was a strong contingent of fans who are members of Stretford Enders Worldwide on Facebook who planned the pilgrimage weeks ago. There is snow and cold in Germany as bad as 60 years ago!

Excellent article about Real Madrids frankly amazing generosity after the disaster.

I read that and was astonished but then the true character of anyone comes through during tough times... irrespective of the rivalry will hold a lot of respect to that club now on...
