TheManc 4,052
Feels like a low key start to the season. Champion of champions is a nice place for it to heat up. Not sure what to make of the season but Selby and Murphy both need good ones. Murphy in particular has been crap for 2 years minus one WC and he has all those points coming off. PVAD 4,461
@TheManc See the scenes at the HK Open 9000 fans at a snooker match final and apparently that was the norm most days. Fu to clinch a final slot by rattling in a maximum to win his semi v Higgins in the final frame is the stuff of legend in front of his home crowd. ROS still winning though that's his first title this season. Northern Ireland Open next week. TheManc
TheManc 4,052
Those pockets looked so giving lol. Good tournament though. Fans looked great
PVAD 4,461
Rocket just ages like a fine wine. Nearly 50 and still winning big tournaments. 4th time winner of the Champions of Champions beating Trump 10-6. Trump for good measure got a max as well. O'Sullivan's longevity is something but his consistency is just phenomenal. Should be considered as a world all-time great sportsman but Snooker will never capture worldwide audiences unfortunately. TheManc 4,052
Glad ROS has pulled a few finals back in his h2h with trump
PVAD 4,461
From the sublime to the ridiculous. ROS whitewashed 6-0 by Ding! It's Ronnie so anything could happen but from purring the previous match how can that form completely disappear in the space of 2 days?!! I think he masks the results with his "I don't care about it" outbursts but I believe when he misses a few balls first couple of frames he literally just gives up. I mean he has conceded even when still capable of getting back in a match so if he doesn't care anymore you have to question why carry on competing because he does let his massive following down when he is in that mood. Flawed genius. TheManc

Flawed genius. Would love a Lisowski/Ding final - 2 of my 4 fav players along with ROS/MJW. Have a feeling Allen will beat Lisowski though. The latter is a choker - he's 4-3 up atm but will probably lose 6-5. I think steve peters has basically got into ROS' mind and realised that the best way for ROS to get the best out of himself, is to try and make him step away from the pressure. Hence, ROS is always saying he doesn't feel pressure because he doesn't care. Edited November 19, 2022 by TheManc PVAD
PVAD 4,461
Can't believe Ding self destructed! Absolute bottle job! TheManc
PVAD 4,461
ROS 3 seconds off the quickest break in history at the Scottish Open missing out on Drago's record of 3 mins 31 secs!!
PVAD 4,461
@TheManc Selby...although I've found him irritating and aloof in the past he did well to beat his mental demons by winning the British Open. The emotion clearly showed at the end. ROS getting beat by a nobody in reality (Gould) just shows again his fluctuating form over the past 4/5 years. Still believe if he practiced just a bit more he'd be close to winning any tournament with that miracle talent. TheManc
TheManc 4,052
Masters should be good. Selby back in form is dangerous PVAD
PVAD 4,461
ROS in imperious form yesterday and with Robertson, Selby & Higgins all out he has a massive chance. Murphy and Trump will be the dangers. TheManc
TheManc 4,052
Think we'll see a Trump/ROS final.
TheManc 4,052
I wanted Williams to win the final Judd Trump winning his second Masters is bad news for the rest of the tour if he can get confidence from it. I still think when it's all said and done, he'll end up on around 15+ majors. PVAD
PVAD 4,461
ROS Robertson Selby all out the World Grand Prix. I'll go out on a limb and say ROS won't win another Tournament this season unless he's waiting the Crucible. TheManc
TheManc 4,052
He's won two this season, just a shame they aren't ranking events. He'll have to do well to qualify for the next grand prix event which is top 16 for the season iirc. He's probably mid 20s on that atm. Think Trump wins the tournament again. When on form, he's basically better than anyone not named ROS. PVAD
TheManc 4,052
Mark Allen is really starting to cement himself as a top player, huh?

Well it's from the sublime to the ridiculous with him. Ding should have smashed him to pieces but he came back from the dead and now so far ahead against Trump and still managed to nearly fuck it up. He's had a purple patch mate players hit that from time to time (Wish Martial fucking would Lol!) Can't see him being consistently good but could be proved wrong tbf. PVAD 4,461
Trump Selby Higgins and now O'Sullivan all out. In ROS's case he got whitewashed 5-0, his second whitewash of the season, by Tian Pengfei. Loads of tip problems all week for him but couldn't use that as an excuse he seriously is on the way imo not because he hasn't got it, it's because he don't give a fuck about the kill anymore and plays how he is feeling. It's a shame his legacy will always be intact but if he's really not feeling it anymore best to leave on top. @TheMancsteam onto to Tian to win the whole lot. Put your mortgage on mate and thank me later. I would but don't have a mortgage as from 2 months ago. TheManc

TheManc 4,052
Didn't just win the tournament, he won that bonus prize as well! 250k or something, plus will be in champion of champions (10k minimum) and is in the grand prix (5k minimum iirc). Put's him top 16, which will mean £10k minimum if he stays there for the WC too. PVAD
PVAD 4,461
@TheManc Have you been keeping up with the 6 Red Championship in Thailand? One of James Wattana's brainchild I think. All top players playing. ROS and Trump got beat by Ding and Vafaei last night. ROS only got the WST Classic to regain some form before defending his World Title. I'm calling it out 2nd/3rd round exit he's done mate and realistically if he doesn't want his legend status tarred a "tiny bit" he should bow out this season. IMO. PVAD 4,461
See that Jimmy rolled back the years beating Trump in the WST Classic that Selby eventually won for his second ranking of the season. Not long now until the Crucible!
