    Ole Sack Watch

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-chief-ed-woodward-hopes-he-never-has-to-sack-another-manager-pressure-builds-ole-gunnar-a4301946.html Manchester United chief Ed Woodward insists he hopes he never has to sack a manager again. Pressure is mounting on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of a critical week for the Norwegian, who has overseen United’s worst start to a season since 1988/89. Jose Mourinho could turn the heat up on his successor when he returns to Old Trafford for the first time since his sacking last year, with Tottenham on Wednesday. With the Manchester derby coming up on Saturday, Solskjaer’s side could find themselves languishing in the bottom half of the table heading into Christmas. Senior sources insist the 1999 treble-winning hero retains the faith of the hierarchy and will be given significant funds to strengthen his squad over the next two windows. But their commitment to his ‘cultural reset’ will be put to the test if United’s alarming form continues. Woodward has already sacked three managers in the six-and-a-half years since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, with Mourinho the last to be shown the door in December 2018. Opening up on his process, United’s executive vice-chairman insists he has to “get on and do it” when the time is right. In an interview with United We Stand, he was asked how he feels about dropping the axe. In Pictures | Man Utd vs Aston Villa | 01/12/2019 22show all “Grim,” he said. “It’s not a pleasant experience and I hope that I never have to do it again. “You know you have to do it so you just get on with it. Once you know you have to do something difficult, then get on and do it. It’s not pleasant.” Mourinho was sacked despite winning two major trophies and overseeing United’s highest League finish since Ferguson – runner-ups to Manchester City in 2018. But his reign unravelled spectacularly after being blocked in his attempts to build on that success with the signing of Harry Maguire – a year before United made the centre-back the most expensive defender in history in an £80million deal with Leicester. It is true what we didn’t sign a centre-back in the summer of 2018 and it is true that there was a difference between the manager and the recruitment department. “Sometimes I have to be the one who delivers the ‘no,’ which isn’t easy because our natural tendency is to back the manager in every possible circumstance, but we have to listen the recruitment experts too.” Woodward added that he expects United to be “back where we belong” within five years – revealing: “I’m gutted when we lose a game. I don’t sleep.”
  2. Rashford is on Fire again. He is coming of age!

    Ole Sack Watch

To be fair, Ole has done the right thing by weeding out all the slow players like Lukaku, Alexis, Fellaini and Matic. He has injected fresh legs which are faster and blood in many new youngsters like Greenwood, William, Garner. He also bought in good players like James, Wan and Maguire. He may have some key performance indicators to meet (How many points by Dec end etc) or Plan B: Management vote him in or out.
  4. Congrats to Brandon. He has now scored as many goal as Luke Shaw and one more than Wan Bissaka!
  5. Positives: Great comeback by the team Brandon Williams with an incredible volley. Chance for goal of the season. Greenwood is always dangerous. Rashford 10 goals in 11 games. If the first goal for SU did not count, United would have won. Negatives: Martial seems clueless as no 9 Andreas can't marshall the midfield Defenders need to be faster Tactics not working. Jones and lindelof should not be playing on the flanks. They are covering for Williams and Wan Bissaka on the flanks but the latters aren't contributing much going forward too.

    Phil Jones 2019/20

Good defender but always get bullied by the referee because of how he moved
  7. Rasfire

    Harry Maguire 2019/20

Maguire was too slow for the second goal, allowing mousset ample time to use his best technique and shoot. At the premier league, you cannot allow the striker too much time to shoot well.

Rashford saved Ole's job for another week just like Lacazette did for Emery.

    2020 Transfer Targets

Martial is beyond useless. Time to buy Haaland.
  10. The fault is on Jones though...DDG already made the first save against Mousset.
  11. Calamity Jones will be shipped off soon.
  12. Great saves by DDG. Jones showing everyone how to do it the united way back from his SAF training days.
