Are your really that naive? It's a self serving interview. He disrespected ten Hag and Rangnick, claims that Gary Neville uses his name, and called Rooney ugly. During the season while still employed by the club. It's clearly a call for them to fire him. Nothing more. The club gave him pre-season off. ten Hag has offered him several olive branches despite breaches of discipline. He even gave him the captain's armband last week, and this is how he repays him. The timing of the interview tells it all. Right after the last PL game before The World Cup. 6 weeks away from the c

He knows there's no coming back from this. That's why he did it. He was given pre-season off to be with his daughter, so that's a strange point to highlight. The club is being revamped in terms of facilities such as the gym and pool. Fans already know that the Glazers let things decay. He says he was surprised that United couldn't attract the bester players in the world anymore... yet we signed two of his ex Real Madrid teammates over the past few windows. Varane and Casemiro would be considered among the best in their positions. The funniest part is that he doesn't think t

On the way, I heard all about the magical Brazilians and of the great Pele. I remember it like yesterday. He scored that day and so did Garrincha, another player we all wanted to see. It wasn't a pretty game as the Bulgarians roughly handled Pele who got no protection from the referee. He hobbled off and couldn't play in the next game against Hungary. He was back for the last game against Portugal and

As I said in the other thread, any sale has been worked on BTS for months. It's not based on 53 seconds of negativity from a 90 minute interview. The heat after the failed ESL fiasco was much more intense than Ronaldo stating the obvious. Unfortunately, lot of dweebs will give Ronaldo credit for this.

I'm surprised a guy who's so obsessed with his PR could be so stupid. How could he not read the room? If he'd have done this interview in June and focused on the Glazers he would have gained more sympathy. As it is the fans have moved on from him and are behind ETH and the project. Ronaldo throwing any shade ETH's way is laughable when he wanted out before he'd even shown up for work under him.

Areta inherited guys like David Luiz, Mustafi, Mkhitaryan, Özil, Aubameyang and Lacazette. The way he had the balls to write off all of them is impressive. Strong leadership. Nicolas Pépé is a club record signing and he just casually loans him out to Nice likes it's nothing. lol. Willian shown the door after just a season as well. They have been ruthless. Fully supported him. I always had more faith in Arteta than Lampard and Solskjaer, but I didn't think he'd turn them into a serious side this quickly. Especially after the setback of finishing 5th last season at the death. Still a lot of

Without actually possessing any talent, he encourages those who have to make abject fools of themselves by opening their hearts and mouths on television. I dare say a lot of people will be laughing at Ronaldo today, and even more at United, a club that has become the 21st century's equivalent of Fred Karno's circus. I really detest United now. I don't detest the history or the great institution we once were, but the modern, plastic, contrived, commercial,

I feel like Ronaldo had badly misjudged how United fans feel about ten Hag at this moment in time. I would say the vast majority of United fans, fully back EtH & agree with how he's managed this whole situation involving Ronaldo. He referred to the United fans 'being on his side' numerous times during the interview, but I really believe he's deluded on this one. The criticism aimed at ten Hag is way out of line from Ronaldo and totally unnecessary to bring up in an interview with Piers fucking Morgan of all people. Like said above, he's trying to play the victim in all of this and lo

I never really expected him to come back to the club. The thing he cares about most is himself, I don't believe he's ever had a deep affinity with the club. The only reason he's cared at all about the supporters is the adulation he's received from them in the past, which his ego loves. Amongst everything else that people have discussed, he's clearly a coward. He's been trying to get out since the summer but doesn't want to be the bad guy by admitting it publicly, so is trying to make the manager and club out to be in the wrong and him the victim. The bigger thing though is that he's done

It's hard to get as excited about it. The talk prior to tournament has all been about the political repression, the corruption, workers rights abuses and god knows what else will unravel during the tournament. No one wants it there and it shouldn't be held in such a place that would be placed in the same category as North korea if it wasn't allied with the west. A lot of money changed hands 12 years ago and the rest is history. The world cup has aways been a summer tournament. Teams, players and fans could focus 100% on it with the season out of the way. There would be warm up games. Engl

After all the hoopla and wall-to-wall press coverage has died down, the Glazers will still be milking United, the club infrastructure will further decay, and it will be business as usual at United. We saw a similar thing when George Best informed the world he had finished with football. The time to blast the Glazers was when Jose was sacked, but he took the money and left.

  23. I still don't think we're all that great. We are 4th or 5th in the table. I think its a fair reflection of the capabilities of the squad, especially one that is having to completely overhaul it's personnel and playing style. Anthony and varane are already amongst our 4 most important players. We had no recognised right back available. Admittedly there is still plenty to work on but there has already been tactical progress since last season.

  24. As Gary Neville rightly pointed out, this United team still look more comfortable playing on the counter attack. It's familiar to them, it's all they knew for a couple of years. Look at that passage of play for the McTominay header, which he should have scored. Once the space opened up and there was room in behind to exploit, McTominay was able to switch the play to Garnacho and then break a sweat to get into the box to meet Shaw's header. Bruno's bad traits are still a problem, Rashford is still to inconsistent, and the jury is still out on Martial due to a small sample size of

So Arsenal are 5 points clear after 14 games for Christmas. I still don't think they'll win the league. But what an effort from them so far. Newcastle look like a very solid outfit too. They'll only get better with more signings. We could have a very odd top 4 this season.

When ten Hag was first appointed, I feel like most United fans were willing to give him a minimum of 2 full seasons & 4 transfer windows, while also clearing out a lot of players who didn't want to be at the club/weren't good enough. I still stand by that and would like to think going into his 3rd season in charge, that he'll pretty much have the squad he wants & feels capable of competing at the top again. I do believe the signs are there early days. But like stated above, the pressure will be fully on him after 2 seasons in charge, he will need to deliver. So far, I think he's d

Better players but probably an even more disjointed squad and more pressure, I know top four is the aim but I maintain my pre season stance of personally being happy enough with top six (maybe revised up to fifth given pools poor first 1/3 of the season though if you’d have asked me before we hired Erik I’d have taken 16 th and a cull so it’s a sign of progress) and evidence of a clear style being implemented it is a low bar to clear but already it is abundantly clear the side is better coached than it has been in a long long time and ETH gameplans well before most games, our work

The man has shot himself in the foot. Regardless if he was right or wrong anyone who would hire him is now backing away - who wants that kind of trouble? Blasting your own guys with that much vitriol is a direct attack on your own team. The only thing that makes sense is that he's trying to get fired for a payday and a chance to move on. He will always have supporters - and more power to them - but for retirement he's very likely just damaged his brand. After that kind of temper tantrum I am less likely to get excited over whatever book deal and sneaker deals he gets. He is raising the pr

I've also read that Ten Hag is looking to get rid of Fred and Maguire though, so whichever turns out to be the case only time will tell. We still need to get rid of a lot of dead wood from the squad and should be reducing the wage bill, so I'd think Fred should be second to go after VDB (McTominay being younger works in his favour.)

He's obviously still raw and we need to make sure we keep his feet on the ground based on some of the comments that have been made about him, but you can see the talent he has in the flashes we've seen from him. I also really like the positivity in his play. He's very direct, always wanting to run at the defence and get himself and/or the ball into dangerous areas rather than turning back.

  47. This will be the reverse of the back to back games vs West Ham under Ole. He won The PL game but got knocked out The League Cup in the return game a few days later. Villa got the win today. I'd expect United to get the win on Wednesday. ten Hag probably realises that winning a trophy is important. Ole never got over that hump. So I don't know if he'll rotate as much as he should. Dúbravka, Malacia, Maguire, Fred and Bruno should be involved.

Not a great recent 2 games for ten Shags. His subs choices on Thursday night didn't work. Ajax fans say that he doesn't like to rotate too much, and it showed in these past 2 games. Eriksen was woeful vs Sociedad. He's clearly tired and it showed again today. He trusted McTominay at one point, but clearly not anymore. Eriksen played the full game today. Dalot is having to play a serious amount of minutes as well. Dúbravka might as well be still at Newcastle. He hasn't gotten a look in. Maybe be will finally get a game in The League Cup on Wednesday night. Captaining Ronaldo
