  1. all 3 relegated teams have a RW option we could look at too (Buendia, Sarr, Brooks) It's not for want of options that we haven't landed one yet, but we won't get one. Hope folks realise we're gonna be one injury away from James being the only option on the right wing other than maybe Mata :L

Cengiz Ünder to Leicester on loan with an obligation to buy is the type of RW signing we could have taken a risk on. €27 million in total. A player with a potential high ceiling.

    Ole Sack Watch

I'm surprised at a lot of the stuff I read in this thread. Two questions: 1. How did United's prospects look prior to last season? In the short, medium and longer term? 2. How are they looking now? I don't know about you, but to me, ahead of last season Utd looked like a team that could realistically hope to finish 5th. Wafer-thin squad, full of holes, needed quality upgrades almost everywhere. The previous season made it obvious that a wholesale revamp would be required, a year ago that process looked very much in its early stages. I fully expected the short term effect

    Gareth Bale (yes really)

Because we've been down this road many times. How many big name players actually settle at United? Barthez was a WC winner who didn't work out. Blanc was a gamble that didn't work. Verón came with a huge reputation from the then best league in the world. Largely flopped. di María never settled. Falcao struggled with us and Chelsea. Schweinsteiger was a massive flop. Alexis was the worst transfer of all time. Bale doesn't fit with the profile of player that Ole is trying to bring to the club. He doesn't tick any of the boxes. His age, attitude, injury record a

Greenwood will play RW a fair bit. But yes, there are a lot of options that we have either failed to recognise or decided no after analysis. Stengs, Chukwueze, etc.

    Gareth Bale (yes really)

1 Bale has not played on the left in years, he has been meh up front and great on the right for Wales, for number 1, can't say he didn't ever play there for Madrid but that relationship had clearly gone sour anyway 2 I'm biased with 2 as I'm Welsh so I loved it - meant a lot to the squad, probably got carried away in the joy of the occasion 3 wouldn't even be paying half of that.... 4) speculation, who knows how much if anything of a cut he'll take or not take but probably the biggest concern with him would be the impact of this on our wage structure which we're still not totally i

What is the story with Villa? They pay such big fees for players. £20 million for Emiliano Martínez who has largely been a backup his entire career.

    Gareth Bale (yes really)

You think Zidane refuses to use a player who won him a CL final just for fun? I think Bale going to Spurs will be good for United. He could upset their squad dynamics and cause someone like Bergwijn or Lucas to kick up a fuss. Bale isn't even that good for Wales anymore. He doesn't carry them like he used to. He's a player in decline. It makes zero sense to sign him when there are dozens of alternatives out there. Ole's ideal player profile is either British, or young & ambitious with their best years ahead of them. Ighalo is the only exception, as that was an emergenc

Seems like spurs are gonna get him on loan with heavily subsidised wages... meanwhile we are signing N. O. body to play there I think... So anyone who was so against the idea Of a loan cannot go back to whinging about James being shoved out there again within weeks

    United Summer Signings 2020

Ole keeps blabbing that we are in for players with more quality than the current ones. Well it is just embarrassing and shambolic that the management can not find a upgrade over Lingard, Andreas or mata. The management is spitting out one lie after another to fans and just dragging the club into an era of midtable mediocrity.
